Hey Phoenixville,
I spent most of last weekend out on the water paddleboarding at Marsh Creek and Nockamixon The weather has been great all week, and Friday and Saturday look just as great. I hope you get a chance to soak up the sun before things start cooling down for good.
The highly anticipated Phoenixville Film Festival is officially kicking off tonight at the Colonial Theatre. Plus, Saturday is going to look completely wild with the fourth annual Mrs. Roper Romp taking over Bridge Street. Let’s not waste time.
Here's what's happening.
Featured Event
I covered this last week, and I'll keep talking about it. The Phoenixville Film Festival kicks off tonight at the Colonial and runs through the weekend. The lineup is 60 films deep, including four world premieres and 24 Pennsylvania premieres.
Opening night is tonight, and it pairs The Haunting of Pennhurst with Steel Wheel, a documentary about Phoenixville's steelmaking past.
On Saturday, look for Owen Teale of Game of Thrones in Something Pointless. Local filmmakers can also sit in on 90-minute master classes, offered on a pay what you wish basis. This is a very cool Phoenixville event so make sure you check it out

The Mrs. Roper Romp is back for year four on Saturday. If you're not familiar, it's a pub crawl where everyone dresses as Helen Roper from Three's Company, so expect a lot of caftans on Bridge Street.
It kicks off downtown at 11 AM, and there's a bingo session at 146 Church St at 3 PM once the crawl gets going.
