Hey Phoenixville,
Blobfest is over. To all those who celebrated, I hope you had a good time.
Friday is looking fun. The Colonial has an author night with Emily McIntire, brought in by Reads & Company. But the one I'm most excited about? Denison Witmer is playing at Perch Plants that same night. Yes, live music in a plant shop, and yes, it works. Tickets are only $15 and it's expected to sell out, so details are below if you want in.
Sunday is a quiet winner. A car show downtown in the afternoon, live music right after, both free to walk up to. Good excuse to eat on Bridge Street and linger.
Here's what's happening.
City Updates
Here are a couple of great updates from this week’s city council meeting:
The French Creek Trail is Growing: The borough just secured a 13-acre easement to extend the local trail. It will stretch from where it currently ends behind the fire station all the way to Nutt Road, behind Giant and Tommy’s Car Wash. It’s the first major step in a bigger plan that could include a future bridge connecting directly into Veterans Park.
A Hidden Piece of History in Reeves Park: The local crew at Specialty Metals recently rehabilitated an original 1850s school bell for the borough. This is the same company that helped out with the Phoenix Wheel. The school bell now proudly hangs in the first garden off Main Street in Reeves Park. Unveiling ceremony details to come.
